Minoh Park, Osaka

 

Minoh Park (箕面公園) is a great place to visit in the fall to see the fall foliage. To get here we took a train from Himeji Station to Osaka Station and transferred to Hankyu Umeda Station to take the Hankyu Takarazuka Line to Ishibashi Handai-mae Station (15 minutes) and then transferred again to the Hankyu Minoo Line to Minoo Station (5 minutes).

The main trail is paved and ends at Minoh's waterfall. On average it's about a 45 minute walk to the waterfall. Along the trail there is an insect museum, Ryuanji Temple, some small shops, and a couple food stands. We stopped by a couple of food stands for some oden and fried maple leaves!

On our walk to the waterfall we stopped by Ryuanji Temple to look around. In general, the path didn't ever seem that crowded, maybe because everyone was spread out and going at their own pace. It was definitely a bit more crowded when we finally reached the waterfall at the end, though!

On our way home we stopped by the Kobe Christmas Market. I had gone with some friends earlier in the month but this time it was much more crowded and they had an ice rink! It was a nice way to wrap up the day.
