Kiku-Masamune Tour

We visited Kiku-Masamune Sake Cup Museum. You do have to make a reservation in advance for the tour, but the tour itself is free. They went over the history of sake in Japan and there were displays of different sake cup designs over the centuries. After the tour, we even got to sample different kinds of sake.

 

Afterwards we ate lunch at an oden restaurant. Blake is a fan of oden, it is a dish that contains boiled eggs, daikon radish, konjac (root vegetable), and fishcakes in a broth. Once we finished, we went to Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens. We had been there before, but not when they have the illuminations for the winter season.

 

 

 

The winter decor in the garden was so nice! There was even glühwein (hot German wine) to buy and in the chilly fall weather it's a nice warming drink. You can ride a cable car to get up to the gardens and come back down. There are paths that you can take to go up but it's takes a bit of time if you go that route. The line to take the cable car back down was crazy long! We waiting in line for almost an hour but it was nice to see the garden again with friends.
